Quote of the day: June 27, 2013

“you dont get what you wish for, you get what you work for”

here’s to working hard today to look and feel better tomorrow. i know everyone wishes they could burn calories by sitting on the couch watching tv or lose 10 pounds over night, but the reality is that you have to work for everything you want to get in life, regardless of what it is. nothing, especially weight loss will be handed to you, and it is one of the hardest obstacles to overcome, so work hard and never back down!

Quote of the day 5/2/13

“Stop worrying about missed opportunities and start looking for new ones.” ~Pei

there were a lot of things i couldve done to lead a healthier lifestyle in april that i missed out on. however, its a new month and i know this one will be better and i will definitely start to see the results i want. i know its going to take a lot of hard work..but im not letting anything stop me this time!

Quote of the day 4/30/13

“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” ~Mark Victor Hansen

i tend to use my environment, being a college student living on campus with a meal plan, as an excuse to why my weight loss isnt going as planned. i recognize that fact that things will be easier once i am home in a short two weeks, as i can exercise whenever i want and choose what i eat rather than it being chosen for me, BUT i also shouldnt be using school as an excuse. while it is harder to lose weight and maintain a healthier diet here, it is not impossible, and i should be focusing on what i can do better instead of what is holding me back.

Quote of the day 4/25/13

“To succeed you must first improve, to improve you must first practice, to practice you must first learn, to learn you must first fail.” ~Wesley Woo

as i posted earlier, today was my third weigh in and it ended up being my first weight gain since i have started. however, i know that i cant be perfect and that the important part is to learn from my mistakes, and knowing what those mistakes are. my mistakes always start with the weekend when everyone goes out and has a good time; but i realize all of these “good times” prevent me from getting in my daily exercise and eating right.

ive learned from making my mistakes that a lot of my energy has to go towards the weekend to make sure i eat right and exercise so i improve instead of going backwards

Quote of the Day 4/24/13

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” ~Zig Ziglar

ive been lacking motivation lately and not making any progress. but i need to realize that motivation isnt going to just happen for me..i need to wake up and tell myself, today i am going to be healthy and i will not make any decisions i will regret. its something that is in fact as important as a shower. obviously if you dont shower, youll be smelly and gross; the same grossness i will feel if i dont motivate myself every day to be healthy. i know that if i stick to it, ill be happy in the end which is all i want.

Quote of the day 4/23/13

“You cannot expect to achieve new goals or move beyond your present circumstances unless you change.” ~Les Brown

as ive already posted, my weekends have been stopping me from making any progress with my weight loss goal. i need to realize how important it is to be healthy not just during the week but ALL THE TIME. right now im working on having a full week of success, meaning not skipping out on weekend work outs and eating right. i cant expect to see results if i dont change

Quote of the day: 4/19/13

“There will be obstacles, there will be doubters, there will be mistakes. But with hard work, there will be success”

no one’s perfect, which makes success hard to achieve, but with the right work effort and determination, anything is possible.

you cant worry about whats going on around you; you cant control those things. all you can do is control yourself and how you treat your body. so work hard to get the body you want, regardless of what people say or anything that stands in your way, and you will have success.

Quote of the Day: 4/18/13

“You can’t do it all yourself. Don’t be afraid to rely on others to help you accomplish your goals.” ~Oprah Winfrey

losing weight and dealing with pcos is hard, but i know i can get through it because i have my friends, family, and everyone who reads my blog’s support.

it really does make a difference when you have people believing in you and encouraging you day by day. it takes away some of the stress and makes me more confident that i can beat this.

so thank you all!!

Quote of the Day: 4/17/13

“While we may not be able to control all that happens to us, we can control what happens inside us.” ~Ben Franklin

i know tonight, right before dinner, im getting back my exam from the previous week. i feel as though I’m not going to get a good grade which usually leads to me being upset and eating. BUT. i am determined not to do that today. i cant control something that took place last week, but i can control what i put in my body, and eating poorly will only make me feel worse.

so, tonight will be the ultimate challenge, and sundaes are always available on wednesday nights, and i am determined to turn this one down.

Quote of the Day 4/16/13

“If I am not good to myself, how can I expect anyone else to be?” ~Maya Angelou

be good to yourself, eat right, exercise, and be healthy. you only get one body to live in so treat it right. its never too late to realize you need to start eating better and being could change your life.

if you want people to stop looking at you because you’re overweight, then you need to change; there’s nothing you can do about them and their thoughts. if you look at yourself in the mirror with confidence, so will everyone else.

if you dont respect yourself, you cant expect anyone else to; and in my eyes, putting poisonous foods into your body is basically a slap in the face to yourself. so dont just respect what kind of person you are, but the body you’re living in
